Senators Elizabeth Warren, Mazie K. Hirono, and Dick Durbin have expressed concerns over the Department of Justice’s (DoJ) decision to terminate cryptocurrency investigations. They termed the shift in priorities a ’grave mistake’ and pointed out possible conflicts of interest, highlighting President Trump’s cryptocurrency ventures as potential beneficiaries. The senators, including Warren (ranking member of the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs), Hirono (senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee), and Durbin (ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee), led a team of six senators calling on Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to recall and reverse the DoJ’s decision.
